und eines dieser Programme hat Dir die mapi32.dll verändert.



Ist ein häufig vorkommendes Problem, nur die Lösung findet man erst nach langer Suche (ich habe jedenfalls einige Tage gebraucht).



Ersetze einfach die mapi32.dll durch eine solche direkt nach der Neuinstallation (oder von einem funktionierenden Rechner in Deinem Netz - testen kannst Du das, indem Du versuchst, einen Ordner auf Benutzerebene freizugeben - wenn Du da eine Benutzerliste bekommst, dann o.k., im absoluten Notfall kann ich Dir auch eine schicken). Netscape, Outlook etc funktionieren bei uns an 20 Rechnern auch mit der neuen mapi32.dll problemlos.

SYMPTOMS



If the User-Level Access Control option is enabled when you attempt to share a folder in Windows, you may receive the following error message when you click Add to add user-level permissions:



You cannot view the list of users at this time. Please try again.







CAUSE



This behavior can occur for either of the following reasons:



Outlook Express is installed on your computer and the " Make Outlook Express my default Simple MAPI client " check box is selected.







You have uninstalled Outlook 97, Outlook 98, Office 97 or Office 98. Uninstalling these products removes the Mapi32.dll file, which is needed to share folders, from your computer.











RESOLUTION



To work around this problem, use the appropriate method:



Using Outlook Express



Restart your computer.







Click Start , point to Programs , point to Internet Explorer , and then click Outlook Express .







On the Tools menu, click Options .







On the General tab, click the " Make Outlook Express my default Simple MAPI client " check box to clear it, and then click Apply .







Click OK when you receive the following prompt:



The Simple MAPI client has been changed. You may need to restart your machine for the change to take effect.







Click OK .



NOTE



If you do not restart your computer in step 1, you may receive the following error message when you click OK: The Simple MAPI Client could not be changed because MAPI is already in use. Close all mail enabled applications and restart your machine. Then retry this option. This error message may occur even if Outlook Express is the only mail program that is currently running.











Quit Outlook Express, and then restart your computer.











Uninstalled Outlook 97/98 and Office 97/98



Extract a new copy of the Mapi32.dll file to the Windows\System folder.



The Mapi32.dll file can be found in the following locations:



Win95_06.cab cabinet file on the Windows 95 CD-ROM







Win95_09.cab cabinet file on the Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2 (OSR2)CD-ROM







Win95_07.cab cabinet file on the original Windows 95 DMF disks







Win95_10.cab cabinet file on the original Windows 95 non-DMF disks







Net7.cab cabinet file on the Windows 98 CD-ROM.

If you are using Windows 98, you can extract the Mapi32.dll file using the System File Checker tool. To use the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:



Insert your Microsoft Windows 98 CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive.







Click Start , and then click Run .







Type: sfc , and then click OK .







Click Extract one file from installation disk .







Type: mapi32.dll , and then click Start .







In the Restore from box, type: drive \win98



Where drive is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive.







In the Save file in box, type: c:\windows\system , and then click OK .







Click OK .







When the file has been successfully extracted, click OK .

NOTE :If you installed a program which requires a special version of Mapi32.dll, then that program may not function correctly. Please consult the program's vendor for an updated version of the file or for additional suggestions.



STATUS



Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Outlook Express. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.







MORE INFORMATION



If you want to keep Outlook Express as your default Simple messaging application programming interface (MAPI) client, add all user-level sharing permissions while the "Make Outlook Express my default Simple MAPI client" check box is cleared. Once all user-level sharing permissions are added, restart your computer, and then click the "Make Outlook Express my default Simple MAPI client" check box to select it.



When the "Make Outlook Express my default Simple MAPI client" check box is selected, Outlook Express is used when you send a document from within another program by clicking Send on the File menu.
